Division of Angiology - Education

Presentation of the Department's educational activity

Training in angiological patient examination in the propedeutical teaching of the third year in internal medicine.  In the first semester of the fourth year, we teach internal medicine angiology by teaching lectures and practices in the field of internal medicine education. We keeping credit courses in English and Hungarian:“New methods in the detection of early atherosclerosis” We also hold medical internal  intensive credit courses: “Diagnosis and treatment of diseases most frequently found in the practice of our medical intensive care”

As part of the postgraduate training, we are preparing for the examinations for internal medicine angiology as a departmental center and a group leader. We regularly give lectures at the preparatory course for the special exam. The annual training course organized by the Institute of Internal Medicine, Every second year we have an angiological block
(Medical Institute Days Angiology Section - 2012, 2014., 2016., 2018). We also participate in the postgraduate training course in intensive therapeutic training for internal medicine.

In 2016 we took part in the introduction of the cardiologist and angiologist specialist assistant training at the University of Debrecen, where the staff of the department had lectures and exercises for 77 hours. Like every year we are involved physiological education of the Intensive Specialist Training Circulation.

The directions of development

Within the scope of the department work we would like to accredit our colleagues with two PhDs, as PhD instructors, for two of our staff, it seems realistic to gain habilitation. We struggle to involve full-time PhD students in research. We put special emphasis on involving Students' Scholarly Circle, for whom we try to attract them towards resident training or academic training (PhD).

In clinical work, it is crucial to strengthen the diagnostic skills of internal medicine angiologists. In this case, it is crucial to acquire the duplex ultrasound test procedure for peripheral blood vessels, but in the near future, the involvement in diagnostic angiography is also apparent. The Department can not dispense with a vascular laboratory that provides macro and microcirculation testing, which routinely provides the following test options: vascular ultrasound, arterial stiffness measurement, transcutane oxygen saturation determination, endothelial dependent vasodilation capacity measurement, laser doppler, laser scanner and capillar microscopy. The design of the DSA laboratory makes full use of the department's diagnostic and intervention activities.
